Passwords: Securing the system
Unauthorized users may try to access consumer video security systems. You should create a new username and password the first time you access the system.
To keep the system secure from unauthorized users we recommend:
- ​Use strong passwords, ones that have a combination of numbers and letters.
- Change passwords periodically.
- Use a strong encryption setting on the router (e.g., WAP or WAP2).
- Change the default password to a unique password for routers / modems as they are the gateway to all connected devices on home / local networks.
