LNR200 / LNR300 Series: Setting the system time using a Network Time Protocol server

A Network Time Protocol (NTP) server syncs your system time with an online time server. Lorex provides a free NTP service that allows your NVR to automatically update the time for Daylight Savings Time.

IMPORTANT: A constant Internet connection is required to use the NTP feature.

Prerequisite:

  • Before setting up NTP, select your time zone. Click here for more information on how to set your time zone.

The following instructions require you to access your system using your NVR and a monitor.

To enable NTP:

  1. Right-click on the Live View, and then click Menu.

  2. Click Configuration and then click Network.

  3. Click the NTP tab.

  4. Check the Enable NTP checkbox.

    Enable NTP

  5. Optional - Configure the following:

    • Interval (min): Enter how often the NVR will access the NTP server to update the time.
    • Server Type: Select General to use the default Lorex NTP server or select Customize to enter a custom server.
    • NTP Server: Select the NTP server or enter the NTP server address.
    • NTP Port: Enter the port number of the NTP server.
  6. Click Apply, and then click Back to exit.
