At Lorex, ensuring the security and privacy of our customers is our highest priority. To further enhance the protection of our products, we are participating in the reputable Pwn2Own Ireland 2024 competition to identify potential vulnerabilities within our products and systems.

Within the competition, there have been bugs identified affecting the Lorex 2K Indoor Wi-Fi Security Camera. While we are actively collaborating with Pwn2Own to develop a comprehensive resolution, we want to reassure our customers that these vulnerabilities cannot be exploited without the access to the victim’s primary network.

Exploits like these that rely on a vulnerable Wi-Fi connection underscores the critical importance of securing Internet-connected devices including security cameras by updating Wi-Fi hub firmware regularly and using a strong password to minimize the risk of unauthorized access to your network.
