Lorex app not connecting to my video doorbell during setup

Once you have scanned your video doorbell's QR code from the Lorex app, the app then attempts to discover your doorbell on the same Wi-Fi network that your phone is connected to. Since the doorbell connects to 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks, during setup you must connect your phone to the same Wi-Fi network.

Video doorbell is not turning on

  • Make sure the breaker is turned on. After turning the breaker back on, wait 5 minutes for the doorbell to fully power on. Press the doorbell’s button to ensure that the chime is operating correctly.
  • Make sure the power source that supplies the video doorbell is 16-24V AC. Check if the voltage is printed on your doorbell transformer and/or use a multi-metre to test the power. Refer to “What transformer should I use with my Wired Video Doorbell?” for more information.
  • Connect the video doorbell using the supplied USB power cable. Make sure the USB cable is connected to a 5V 2A USB power adapter (not included) that is also connected to a power outlet. To verify if the power outlet is working properly, try connecting another device to the outlet and check if the device gets power. If the video doorbell successfully powers on using the USB power adapter, carefully go over the installation setup again. Refer to “Installing the 4K Video Doorbell” for more information.
  • Select the correct option when connecting a Wi-Fi Chimebox. (ACCHM1 / ACCHM2) During setup, select No Chime or Not Now. Do not select Mechanical Chime or your doorbell will not power on.

Video doorbell's chime not working

  • For your chime to ring, the chime setting in the Lorex App must be set to Electronic Chime or Mechanical Chime, depending on the type of doorbell chime you have. Mechanical chimes make a traditional ding-dong sound when rung while electronic chimes can play a melody or ding-dong when rung. You can modify these settings at any time in Device Settings > Doorbell Chime.
  • Check to make sure that the chime kit is wired correctly. Refer to “Installing the 4K Video Doorbell” for more information.
  • Allow for the video doorbell to power on for 5 minutes before testing the chime.
