FLIR FX Modes: Cloud mode and Direct mode
The FLIR FX camera can connect to a smartphone or tablet using the Direct mode or the Cloud mode.
Cloud mode
Cloud mode enables you to connect to the camera from anywhere in the world over the Internet. When in Cloud mode, you can connect up to three smartphones or tablets to the camera at the same time. Once you have set up the camera and connected it to the WiFi network, the Cloud mode LED () on the back of the camera glows solid green and is ready to receive connections.
Direct mode
Direct mode enables you connect to the camera and view live video in areas without a WiFi network. Direct mode uses the built-in WiFi access point in the camera to create a WiFi hotspot. The Direct mode LED () glows solid orange when the camera is in Direct mode. Your smartphone or tablet connects to the camera's WiFi hotspot.
LIMITATION: Direct mode only enables you to connect to your FLIR FX camera. Your smartphone or tablet may not be able to connect to the Internet until you return to a mobile or WiFi network.
