Lorex Connect App - Live View

Discover how to use the Live View feature in the Lorex Connect App to monitor your cameras in real-time and access features such as snapshots, recording, two-way talk, sirens, lights, and more.

Getting Started

  1. Download the Lorex Connect app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
  2. Pair your device with the app by tapping the Add icon, tapping Scan QR Code or Online Devices and following the in app instructions.
  3. From the Home tab, tap the thumbnail of your desired device to access its live view and watch the camera's footage in real time.

Changing Cameras in the Live View

To switch devices to the Live View:

  1. Tap the camera icon.
  2. Select which cameras you would like to view, and tap Okay to confirm.

Device Options

Tap the Gear icon to share, create a group, or to see your device's settings. Refer to your device's Frequently Asked Questions for more information on your camera's settings.


Viewing Multiple Cameras

When the Lorex Connect app is connected to a recorder, you can view multiple cameras simultaneously in Live View. To view all cameras, tap the grid buttons to switch the layout to a 4-view or 9-view grid.

Live View Functions

Function Buttons

Note: Not all functions may be available, depending on your device.

  • Snapshot: Tap the Snapshot button to capture a still image. Afterward, you can tap Download or Share to save or share the image.
  • Recording: Tap the Recording button to start and stop recording, then tap download or share under the recording thumbnail.
  • Talk: Tap the Talk button, then speak into your phone's microphone to be heard over your camera's speaker.
  • PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom): Tap the PTZ button to control the camera's movement using directional arrows. You can save specific positions by tapping Set Preset Position or quickly return to a saved position by tapping Go to Preset Position.

Note: PTZ functions are only available for PTZ cameras.

  • Siren: Tap the Siren button and confirm by tapping Okay to activate the camera’s siren.
  • Light: Tap the Light button to enable the light and again to disable.
  • Panorama: Tap the Panorama button, then tap Generate 360 Panorama to create a panoramic image of the camera’s view.
  • Lullaby: Tap the Lullaby button to adjust the video orientation. Then the Play button to begin playing a lullaby through the camera's speaker.
  • Mirror: Tap the Mirror button to adjust the video orientation. Then tap Horizontal to flip horizontally, and Vertical to flip it vertically.

More Functions

  • Audio: Tap the Audio button to enable or disable the camera's sound.
  • HD: Tap the HD button to toggle between different video resolutions.
  • Privacy Mode: Tap the Privacy Mode button to disable the camera from recording or displaying live footage. Tap again to turn off Privacy Mode.
  • Baby Mode: Tap the Baby button to disable the camera's siren and IR sensor, and again to enable those features.
