N884 Series: Using Dual Lens and Smart Security Lighting Cameras

This article answers questions regarding dual lens capabilities, and provides instructions for how to use the Smart Security Lighting feature on your IP wired deterrence cameras through your N884 recorder.


Is my N884 recorder compatible with any dual lens cameras?

Yes, the N884 recorder is compatible with the E871AB dual lens camera.


Is my N884 recorder compatible with Smart Security Lighting?

Yes, follow the instructions below to configure Smart Security Lighting from you N884 recorder:


Manually activating Smart Security Lighting:

  1. From the home page of the NVR, hover over the top of the thumbnail of your E871AB camera so that the menu bar appears.
  2. Tap the Smart Light button to activate Smart Security Lighting, and again to disable it.

Enable Smart Light


Activating Smart Security Lighting on a schedule:

  1. From the Live View display, right-click to open the Quick Menu, then click Main Menu.
  2. Click Events, then Event Settings. Click the Motion tab from the side panel, then Active View from the top panel.
  3. Select a camera to configure.
  4. Check to Enable.
  5. Under Mode, select between the different lighting modes or select Custom to customize the colors.
  6. (Optional) Adjust Custom mode preferences:
  • Current Date: Select the weekday from the drop-down menu and then click Schedule to choose the times of the week to enable Smart Security Lighting.
  • Period (1–6): Choose the time that Smart Security Lighting will be active.
  • Color: Click on the green color box to open the color settings. Set a custom color by clicking through the rainbow color palette, then click OK to select the color.
  • Brightness: Set the brightness level.
  • Select Normal for a solid light or Flashing for a flashing light.
  • Copy: Copy your preferences onto other weekdays or All.

Smart Security Lighting Settings

  1. Click Apply to save changes.

Turning off Smart Security Lighting:

You can easily turn the Smart Security Lighting mode off by disabling it. To turn Smart Security Lighting off:

  1. From the Live View display, right-click to open the Quick Menu, then click Main Menu.
  2. Click Events, then Event Settings. Click the Smart Security Lighting tab from the side panel.
  3. Select a camera to configure.
  4. Uncheck Enable.
  5. Click Apply to save changes
