Setup: Camera masking

Depending on your camera or DVR / NVR system, there are two types of camera masking that you can use:

  • Privacy Masking: Used to block out specific areas of recordings. In recorded video, the masked area will be censored or blurred. Some common uses of Privacy masking are Pin numbers at ATM machines, bathroom entrances, windows, or private property.
  • Motion Detect Masking: Used to turn off motion detect in certain areas of the video feed. Commonly used when trying to stop false detects that use up recording space. These can be anything that moves in the view of your camera that you do not want to trigger a recording.

Details on how to use each of these each of these camera masking features can be found in your specific user manual. Click here for downloads and documentation for your product.
