Hardware: DVR / NVR fan not working

If your DVR / NVR fan is not working, it may be due to dust or debris that has built up and stopped the fan from spinning. You can resolve this problem by opening your DVR / NVR and carefully cleaning the fan.

To access and clean the fan:

Prerequisite:

  • The following instructions are based on an LHV2000 Series DVR. For your specific model illustrations refer to your user manual. Click here for downloads and documentation for your product.
  1. Power off the DVR / NVR system and unplug all cables.

WARNING: Ensure the system is powered off and the power cable is disconnected before opening your DVR / NVR.

  2. Remove the screws of the DVR / NVR cover, then slide the cover off.

WARNING: The inner casing of the DVR / NVR has sharp edges that can lead to injury if not carefully handled. Be careful not to let any tools or loose parts touch sensitive components such as the circuit board.
