Infrared (IR) Cut Filter
An infrared (IR) cut filter blocks infrared light but allows colors visible to the naked eye to pass through. It is also known as an auto mechanical infrared cut filter. An IR cut filter prevents discoloration of an image caused by environmental infrared light (e.g., the sun and incandescent light). During low or no light conditions, the IR cut filter moves away from the lens for 100% of the infrared light and maximum night vision performance. Not all cameras have an IR cut filter.
