Lorex Connect App - Playback
Learn how to navigate the Playback feature in the Lorex Connect App, access recordings saved in the cloud or on an SD card, apply filters to find specific events, and adjust viewing options.

Getting Started
- Download the Lorex Connect app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
- Pair your device with the app by tapping the icon, tapping Scan QR Code or Online Devices and following the in app instructions.
- From the "Home" tab, tap your desired device's thumbnail, then select Playback to view recorded events.
Calendar
Tap on the displayed date to open the calendar, then select the date you want to view recordings from. Dates with a blue dot indicate dates when the camera has saved events.
Playback shows the time of the event, duration of the event, and an icon for each event type.
Cloud & SD Card Storage
The Cloud and SD Card Storage buttons are only visible on the Playback screens for individual cameras. They do not appear on NVR's Playback screens.
Tap the SD card button to access events saved on your camera's microSD card (if included). Tap on the Cloud button to access events saved on your Lorex Cloud account.
Grid & Timeline View
Toggle the and the to order the thumbnails in a list versus a grid.
In the Timeline, you can pinch to zoom in or out of the timeline and scroll through recordings to find specific events.
Filter
- Tap the icon to search for recordings based on event type.
- After setting your filter preferences, tap Search to display the relevant recordings.
Download, Snapshot, and Recording
Download
Downloading a recording allows the user to save their important recordings for as long as needed, and access them again at a later date.
- In the Playback screen, tap Download button.
- Tap the recording you would like to download. Then, wait until the recording is 100% downloaded.
- To find the downloaded recording, navigate to the icon > Settings > Albums.
Snapshot
Taking a snapshot allows the user to take a picture of a recording and may be useful for finding clarity in, capturing, or emphasizing the important image(s) in a recording.
- In the Playback screen, select a recording.
- At the moment you would like to capture, tap the Snapshot button.
- Tap Download to save to your camera's photo app, and Share to send the photo to another location.
Recording
Taking a recording allows the user to save customized portions of the camera's original recordings. Camera's often capture motion for multiple minutes and a user may only need a few seconds.
- In the Playback screen, select a recording.
- At or before the moment you would like to capture, tap the Recording button.
- When you have recorded the desired moment, tap the Recording button again.
- Tap Download to save to your camera's photo app, and Share to send the photo to another location.
