Wi-Fi Security Camera – Configuring Lorex App

Wi-Fi Security Camera - Lorex App Dashboard

When you launch the Lorex App, there are three tabs on the dashboard:

  • Devices (default view)
  • Events
  • Settings

Devices

The Devices screen lets you add new devices, view live video, and quickly set preferences for notifications. See below for a complete overview of the Devices screen.

Dashboard Home

  1. Device Name

  2. Channel Thumbnails:

  • Tap a channel thumbnail to view live video from a single channel.
  • Tap the Bell Icon icon in the upper-right corner of a device thumbnail to enable/disable push notifications for the selected channel.
  • Tap the Privacy Icon icon on the bottom-left corner of the device thumbnail to enable/disable privacy mode. ​
  1. Notifications: Tap to turn all notifications for all connected devices on/off.

  2. Add New Device: Tap the Add device icon to add a new device.

  3. Device Settings: Configure device settings remotely.

Events

The Events screen summarizes all motion detection events recently captured by your security cameras and also includes all device activities including adding, removing, sharing, and more.

Motion Detection Events

Motion detection events are grouped together by channel/camera. Tap any thumbnail to view all events on a certain channel.

  1. Return to Activities screen

  2. Current Week:

    Event Filter Screen

  • Select a date to view motion events from.
  • Swipe left/right to see days not currently shown on screen.
  • Tap the Filter Iconicon to filter events by time and event type.
  1. Motion Event Recordings: Tap any event to play back recorded video of the motion event.
    Note: Device storage must be enabled for video playback.

  2. Make a Selection:

  • Tap Edit icon to select one or multiple recordings.
  • Tap Deselect icon icon to select all recordings in the current list.
  • When you have selected one or more recordings, tap the delete icon to delete selected recordings.
  1. New Event Indicator: A red dot appears beside recordings you have not viewed yet.

Settings

The Settings screen lets you change your Lorex App account settings, such as account password and notifications. You can also view all your connected devices, manual recordings, and snapshots.

Settings Dashboard

  1. Home & Away™: Enable/disable location to manage notifications when you are at home or away. To start using this feature, go to your mobile settings and enable Location. For more instructions, see Configuring Home & Away™.
    Note: Home & Away™ mode requires the use of your mobile device’s location services, which can impact battery life.

  2. My Devices: View all connected devices. Tap any device to access the Device Settings.

  3. Manual Recordings and Snapshots: View snapshots and manual recordings you have taken.

  4. Test Your Wi-Fi: Test your Wi-Fi connection by connecting to your Wi-Fi network near the intended mounting location.

  5. Alexa: Tap for Amazon Alexa™ setup instructions, supported voice commands, and compatible devices.

  6. Google Assistant: Tap for Google Assistant™ setup instructions, supported voice commands, and compatible devices.

  7. Report a problem: Send feedback about the Lorex App directly to Lorex.

  8. Notification Settings: Set notification settings, such as alert tune, ringtone, and set a schedule.

  9. Account Settings: Change account settings, such as Lorex App account password, associated email address, and more. For more instructions, see Account Settings.
