The following FAQ article answers many of the general questions about the 4K NVR & Battery-Operated Camera System (L8559 Series). Where applicable, the FAQ includes links to articles where you may find more information.

Why has the Alexa or Google feature stopped working?

If you have already paired your Lorex system to the Alexa or Google app, but it recently stopped working, please see the article Alexa/Google Compatibility Support to learn more about the recent service change.

Why is my video not clear, delayed, or lower resolution?

The camera is too far from the NVR. Place the NVR in a more central location or move the cameras closer. Note: Video quality is dependent on your Wi-Fi network strength, the number of devices on your networks etc.,

Check the camera resolution:

  1. From the recorder Liveview screem click main menu > Setup > Recording > Record Setup.
  2. Select a channel, and then check or change the resolution (720p, 1080p, 2K, 4K, or Auto).
  3. Click Save.

What is the battery life of the Power Pack?

The Power Pack battery usually lasts up to 500 events on a single charge before it runs out. It is important to note that several factors can influence the life of the battery. These include where the camera is placed, its settings, the ambient temperature, and the frequency or duration of each event.

We recommend considering these factors when assessing the expected battery life of your battery-operated camera. Monitoring the battery level regularly and recharging it as needed will help ensure uninterrupted surveillance coverage. Plus, you will receive low battery notifications when the battery levels reach 20%, 15%, 10%, and 5%, allowing you to proactively maintain your surveillance operations.

How do I extend the battery life?

Battery life is dependent on placement, settings, frequency and length of events, and ambient temperature.
