Welcome to the App Settings guide for managing the LK101 Series Bluetooth Deadbolt Smart Lock. This article will walk you through all the app and device settings, ensuring you get the most out of the smart lock.

Getting Started

  1. Download the Lorex app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
  2. Pair your smart lock with the app by following the detailed instructions in the guide Connect to the Lorex App.

Lock Settings

Lock/Unlock from the App

Easily lock or unlock your smart lock through the Lorex app by using the lock/unlock icon in the middle of the screen, which is a round button with a lock symbol. When locked, it shows a closed lock and says "Locked."

  1. Open the Lorex app.
  2. Tap the smart lock.

  1. Press and hold the button until the lock responds. The ring around the button will show the progress.

Note: Ensure that you are within range of the smart lock and that Bluetooth is turned on for this function to work.

Auto-Lock and Auto-Unlock

Auto-Lock and Auto-Unlock make it easy to lock or unlock your door automatically:

  • Auto-Lock: Your door will lock automatically after a time you choose (such as 30 seconds or 1 minute).

  • Auto-Unlock: Your door will unlock when you are nearby (within about 656 feet or 200 meters), as long as your phone’s Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and location services are all turned on.

To enable Auto-Lock and Auto-Unlock:

  1. Open the Lorex app.
  2. Tap the smart lock.
  3. Tap the Device Settings icon [Device Settings icon].

  1. Tap Auto-Lock.

  1. Enable Auto-Lock, set the time after which you want the lock to automatically lock, then tap Save.

  1. Back in Device Settings, tap Auto-Unlock.
  2. Enable Auto-Unlock. You can also enable the options below to be alerted when you enter or leave your locked location.

  1. Tap Lock location to set your address, and tap Continue.

This allows the app to detect when you are near the smart lock, enabling it to auto-lock or unlock based on your proximity.


Admin Code

The admin code for the smart lock is a master access code that grants the primary user (e.g. smart lock owner) full control over the lock's settings and functionalities. It is used for various administrative tasks, including:

  • Programming the Lock: Setting up and configuring the lock for the first time.
  • Adding and Removing Users: Managing who has access to the lock.
  • Changing Lock Settings: Adjusting lock settings such as automatic locking, sound alerts, and notifications.
  • Entering Programming Mode: Accessing advanced features and settings directly from the lock's touchpad.

To change the admin code:

  1. Open the Lorex app.
  2. Tap the smart lock.
  3. Tap the Device Settings icon [Device Settings icon].

  1. Tap Change Admin Code.

  1. Enter the Old Admin Code, the New Admin Code, and then confirm the new admin code.
  2. Tap Save.

User Management

User management for the smart lock allows the primary user (admin) to control who can access the lock and customize their permissions.

Adding Users:

Grant access to family members, friends, or trusted individuals. Note: You can add up to 10 users, including the admin.

  1. Open the Lorex app.
  2. Tap the smart lock.

  1. Enter the user's details, assign a user role, and then tap Save.

The new user will receive an email invitation to accept access to the smart lock.

Editing User Permissions:

Adjust the level of access for each user based on their needs.

  1. Open the Lorex app.
  2. Tap the smart lock.
  3. Tap Users from the bottom menu.

  1. Assign a different role under User role, then tap Save.

Removing Users:

Revoke access from users who no longer need it.

  1. Open the Lorex app.
  2. Tap the smart lock.
  3. Tap Users from the bottom menu.

  1. Tap Remove User, and then tap OK to confirm.

Entry Codes

Entry codes are unique numerical combinations assigned to individual users, allowing them to unlock the smart lock without a key. Unlike the admin code, which grants full control over the lock's settings and user management, entry codes provide access only for locking and unlocking. You can assign different entry codes to various users, set temporary codes for guests, and easily manage or revoke these codes through the app.

You can set up to four different types of entry codes:

  • Permanent Code: Always active.
  • Single Entry Code: One-time use.
  • Scheduled Entry: Active on specified days and times.
  • Valid Time Range: Active between designated start and end times.

Creating Entry Codes:

  1. Open the Lorex app.
  2. Tap the smart lock.

  1. Tap + Add new entry code.

Lorex App - add name, code, and assign entry type

  1. Enter the desired code and name.
  2. Select the entry type, and then tap Save.
  3. Tap Save.

Note: You can program up to 200 user entry codes.

Deleting Codes:

  1. Open the Lorex app.
  2. Tap the smart lock.

  1. Swipe left on the entry code.
  2. Tap Delete.

Lock History

The History feature in the Lorex app allows you to view the complete lock history of your smart lock. This feature provides detailed records of all lock and unlock activities, giving you a comprehensive overview of when and how the lock was accessed, who accessed it, and when users or entry codes were added or deleted.

  1. Open the Lorex app.
  2. Tap the smart lock.

Battery Status

The battery status feature in the app provides real-time information about the power level of your smart lock's batteries. This feature helps you monitor the battery life to ensure your lock operates smoothly and without interruption. When the battery level is low, the app will send you notifications to replace the batteries promptly.

  1. Open the Lorex app.
  2. Tap the smart lock.
  3. Tap the Device Settings icon [Device Settings icon].

  1. Under Battery, you will see the smart lock's battery status displayed as a percentage.

Vacation Mode

Vacation Mode enhances security by temporarily disabling all user entry codes, allowing the smart lock to be unlocked only by the admin code or with a physical key. This ensures your home remains secure while you are away.

Enable Vacation mode:

  1. Open the Lorex app.
  2. Tap the smart lock.
  3. Tap the Device Settings icon [Device Settings icon].

  1. Tap to enable Vacation Mode, then tap Okay.

If enabled, you will see "Vacation mode is enabled" displayed right above the lock.


Keypress Beep

The audible beep sound is a notification emitted by the lock during various functions, such as when you touch the keypad, reset the lock, or when the deadbolt changes direction.

Disable Keypress Beep:

  1. Open the Lorex app.
  2. Tap the smart lock.
  3. Tap the Device Settings icon [Device Settings icon].

  1. Tap to disable Keypress Beep.

Reset Bolt Direction

The "Reset Bolt Direction" option in the app allows you to adjust the lock's deadbolt alignment. This feature is particularly useful if the lock is not properly aligned with the door frame or if the smart lock has been relocated to a different door.

  1. Open the Lorex app.
  2. Tap the smart lock.
  3. Tap the Device Settings icon [Device Settings icon].

  2. Tap Continue.

Your lock will immediately begin resetting the deadbolt direction.


Factory Reset

The factory reset option for the smart lock restores the device to its original settings, erasing all custom settings, entry codes, bolt direction, user data, lock history, and paired devices. This is useful if you are experiencing persistent issues or if you are transferring the lock to a new owner.

From the Lorex App:

  1. Open the Lorex app.
  2. Tap the smart lock.
  3. Tap the Device Settings icon [Device Settings icon].

  1. Tap Factory Reset.
  2. Enter the admin code.

After a factory reset, you will need to remove the device from the app. Then, set it up again like a brand-new device by pairing it with the app and configuring your settings.


Remove Device

  1. Open the Lorex app.
  2. Tap the smart lock.
  3. Tap the Device Settings icon [Device Settings icon].

  2. Confirm by tapping Remove Device again.

Note: If you are transferring the lock to someone else, be sure to remove it from your app. If you do not, the new owner will not be able to set it up in their Lorex app account, even if they reset the lock. If you have trouble removing it, contact Lorex Technical Support for help.
